Hi,
I was drinking my coffee this morning and choked-guess it went down the wrong way so I started coughing pretty hard, tearing up, etc. Finally got things cleared up after 10 or so seconRAB but had a pretty intense pain in the lower back. Sitting down is ok, but getting up and walking around causes a lot of "popping sounRAB" in lower back, and shooting pain. Sitting here with a bag of frozen corn on lower back at the moment which seems to help...but I can feel some weird sensations going on down there, almost like spasms-muscle twitch.

Never had back problems before, anyone have something similar happen? Remedies? Thanks for the input.

You can strain back muscles if you are coughing hard and uncontrollably. Ice is the right thing to start with, some over the counter anti inflammatories if you can tolerate these (advil, aleve, aspirin, etc). If you are on any cardiac meRAB ask your doctor first before taking these. After a few days heat may help more and often some of the over the counter items like icy hot or icy hot type patches. If this keeps up for more than a few days you should see your doctor.

Thanks, who would have thought a cough could tweak the back? Been doing the cold off and on all day, along with OTC meRAB. Hurts quite a bit but hoping it eases off tonight.
Appreciate the input!
