Adventure comes at a price...

Ok. I went on a very long snowboarding trip a little over a month ago. It was my 4th trip in 3 seasons. I've gotten proficient enough to stay up all the way down the mountain if I want to.

HOWEVER, I see this as a bit boring in that if I'm not falling, I'm obviously not taking enough risks to learn anything beyond my current skill set. SO this trip after my first couple runs, I decided to do two things: Get down the mountain as fast as humanly possible and make as many jumps as I could.

This made me feel much better. The speed was teaching me more control and through the jumps I was learning more balance. This 'better' came at the price of a few epic wipe outs, showing me stars and tumbling for several dozen yards downhill. Which is mainly a bitch because I was on the east coast, so half the mountain was solid ice.

By the end of the trip I was a little beat up, whiplash, bruised tailbone, and my left wrist hurt a bit. Whatev. Totally worth it. Fast forward a month after being back and my wrist STILL hurts, especially when I bend it. Fuck. Ok, doctor time.

Doc tells me I've fractured a bone in my wrist AND I also sprained it. Now I am not to lift anything heavier than a magazine, and keep it in a brace for weeks until it heals. My retarded ass has been helping people move, playing football, and doing extensive yard work since I've been back. Good for me right? Well now I'm having a hard time working becuase it's a bit of a pain in the ass to pic up large computers and move them around to work on them with one hand. So, I play on WTF. Thank you for being my rehabilitation.
