I am 50 and have a 75 degree curve, fused from T4 to sacrum. I also had early onset of osteoporosis, which made it worse. I am working on getting disability, but it's a long, cruel process. My advocate and doctors are confident that I'll get it, but you have to jump through hoops, which isn't easy when you can't jump!
Do you have pain during the day? Have you seen an orthopedic spine specialist? There are options besides surgery. After my surgery, my physical therapist was a gal who had done a PT fellowship and had extra training on orthopedics. She was able to troubleshoot particular problems I was having, teaching me which muscle groups to use and how to isolate and strengthen them. What a huge help that was! I use a cane whenever I know I'm going to be on my feet or in a line for a while. It helps to have something to lean on. It takes the pressure off my spine.
For sleeping, I use an hour glass shaped chunk of memory foam I got at one of those linen stores. It's called a leg spacer and fits so nicely between my knees. It's much easier than a pillow. It makes everything line up better so there's less stress on your spine. I also have a little throw pillow that I keep against my chest so that my top arm when I'm on my side doesn't make me twist. The pillow helps support it.
I hope you can find someone who can help you. Been there, done that!
