Adobe Photoshop Elements Cs4?

If I have adobe photoshop elements on another computer, do I have to deactivate it for it to work on this new computer I got? Because I tried putting in the serial number to activate photoshop on my new computer, but it keeps rejecting it. help!
sorry, I meant I have photoshop elements 8
and I just located the serial number, but I'm missing 4 more numbers!
 
There is a Photoshop Elements 4 and a Photoshop CS4. They are not the same. I have placed Photoshop programs on both desktops and laptops and there has been no problems. Are you sure you are not making a mistake on the number and do you have the real number, no that which displays on startup or via Help.
