I've been using the computer I am on for a little over 2 months. I never had a problem with the Flash player, but I had some issues with another program I use & was told by that system's tech support to Turn off my User Account Control. The flash continued to work for a week or so & then just stopped. I've tried to uninstall all earlier versions & reinstalling, I've tried turning the User Account Controls back on, still nothing. I'm in need of some tech help! can anyone help me with this? I'll gladly message live, but it's got to be on Facebook b/c the Flash being out has killed my Yahoo Messenger and AIM.... please!!!
alright, since i haven't given any "actual" details... here they are. THERE ARE NO ERROR MESSAGES. it does nothing. i'm using Mozilla Firefox as my browser & Vista is my operating system. I follow the "Install Missing Plug-Ins" to "Manual Install", it brings me to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ , I choose Vista as the operating system, i choose Firefox as the browser, & "Agree & Install"
"Opening install_flash_player.exe" window pops up saying:
"install_flash_player.exe
Which is a: Binary File
From: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com
Would you like to save this file?"
with 2 options: "Save File" or "Cancel"
i keep choosing "SAVE FILE"
The download list pops up, finishes downloading, a little "Download Complete" window comes up from the bottom right & quickly shrinks itself.
& that's it. when i go back to the same spot i was at when i downloaded it, nothing happens. it tells me i am missing the "additional plug-ins required to display all media on this page". better?
