adobe flash player question! thanks so much!!?

hey my computer says that i cant watch videos on youtube or facebook because i dont have the newest version of adobe flash player... so i downloaded it and i even got a message saying it was successfully downloaded but now when i try to watch a video, it still says i cant watch it and i need to download the lnewest version of adobe flash player... whats going on?
