Ok so this has been happening for awhile now, it worked fine for years but about 2 weeks ago, flash suddenly stopped working. It said I needed to install it, so I did, and then everything worked fine. The next day I turned on my computer and it was not working again. This time I looked up a help forum and they said to use an uninstall program first, then restart my computer before installing again. I did this and again, everything worked fine until I turned off my computer the next time, when I restarted Flash was gone again. This time I went into my add or remove programs to check if Flash was maybe installed there but just not working, but it did not show up at all.
After I used the uninstall utility again, and reinstalled again, I had some work to do so my computer stayed on for awhile longer than usual. After about 5 hours, I noticed that yellow bar at the top of the screen saying I needed to install adobe flash player, so I went to the page where you test if flash is working and sure enough it was not again! That time I had not even turned off my computer Flash just disapeared into mid air while I was using it!!! I'm kindof at a loss here I don't understand how this problem could start so out of the blue. Other than using my windows media player more often I have not been doing anything new with my comp or downloaded anything.
I am using Windows XP SP2.
Thanks any help is appreciated!
Yes I have a firewall and virus protection. Plus spyware and popup blocker. I scan frequently and have my security settings set pretty high on everything.
Nope no rogue programs (I double checked anyway). The Flash Player stops working, its not just the yellow bar that is just an after effect of the player not functioning but thanks.
Ok I need to correct something I was wrong its not uninstalling completely after all I just didn't recognize it on the add/remove programs page. Its there just not working.
Well it seems I was able to fix the problem myself. I did a system restore back to a month ago which was super annoying but it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks to both of you for trying.
