I want to install some woofers and add an amplifier to my jeep but keep the original stereo and speakers. I know that this jeep comes with its own external amp to power the speakers and I believe (found in a forum) that its located under the passenger seat. I just want to know if i'm right on this. All I think I have to do is use this converter Scosche SLC4 http://www.crutchfield.com/app/product/item/main.aspx?i=142SLC4 and tap into the speaker wires coming out of the amp to the converter then from the converter back to the original speaker wire and set the converter to factory amp mode. Then run rca from the converter to my aftermarket amp. I'm also going to need to find the amp turn on wire and splice into it and connect it to the external amp, which i think is a blue wire with a yellow stripe or something around there (i'll use a test light to find it). and of course run a power and ground cable. and it should be set.
If im right with my plans please let me know, and if im wrong correct me. I've done this to other cars with success but I just need some reassurance. thanks!!
P.S if you happen to know where the easiest place to splice the wires please let me know. thanks again!
