yes addictive gene for itsnence my grand farther was an alcoholic my father was my brother is , an i am we are all men , my mothers farther also , but i learned , take for instence, a collage student that gets caught up in the party life while in collage , has a 50% chance of becoming an alcoholic or addict, most collage students go on to have famileys an settle down an dont cross the line from dependcy to full blown alcoholism or addiction, an this line can be crossed at any point in ones life , once crossed there is no going back , but it can be arrested , 1 day at atime, its a disease, an allergy , this 50 50 chance goes for anyone ,weather the family gene is there or not , if you would like tell us whats up , i learned this from a drug an alcohol program i had to go through for dui , i am a recvering alcoholic, hope this helps
