I was prescribed Adderall a couple weeks ago, and after moving up to a functional dose (10mg), I've noticed I have lost all desire to physical with my boyfriend (even just kissing/cuddling).
I know this is a side effect, and I have read up on the drug extensively. Everywhere, I see that this is listed as a "severe" side effect and that if you experience this you should "tell your doctor immediately".
My question is, why is it "severe"? I am 18 and am being prescribed by my pediatrician. I would rather not discuss this with him or my parents (who don't approve/know about my sexual activities, which I am quite safe and mature about).
Is this dangerous, do I need to tell him? I would rather not switch drugs since this is the first one that has not had overwhelming side effects for me (I'm a little sensitive).
thanks!
I know he won't tell my parents, I just would rather not to tell them about this side effect (they still think I'm their little girl). I can also see my bf between doses.
I guess what I'm getting at, is: why is this such a "severe" side effect (listed with heart and breathing problems, etc) to tell a dr. about?
