I'm planning to buy the cutest beach cruiser, but it's only single speed. Meaning, it doesn't have hand brakes, but it has coaster brakes (coaster brakes are pedal brakes in which you pedal backwards so the bike would slow down or stop, but it's not as fast &easy as the hand brakes). I think not having hand brakes would be dangerous for me because I bike around high places. You get the picture.
So, I was wondering.. If I bought that single speed beach cruiser that I want, would it be possible for me to go to a bike store &have hand brakes added on to the bike?
&PLEASE, do not suggest buying beach cruisers WITH hand brakes, because I really love that cruiser I saw. It's unique, but sadly it doesn't have hand brakes. Plus, the cruisers with hand brakes are so expensive. They range from $300+. The bike I saw was only less than 200, so I definitely wanna buy that one.
