I've been sued by a credit card company and have to appear in court what should i do and how should i prepare myself? I have no money for a lawyer so that's out of the question and i can only pay a minimum of $65 a month the amount that they are suing for is $10,000. The amount is ludicrous because i didn't owe that amount. but will i be jailed if i show up. The summons stated that if i don't show up i'll have bank account assets frozen and my work wages garnished in which i cannot afford for that to happen being that i have an infant to care for.
