Activesync - Highly unreliable over GPRS

I dont know if it's Mail2Web or the Activesync client in the E61, but something causes the whole push email service to be very undependable when connected through GPRS.

I have sync schedule "always on" for "peak" and "off peak", and have "always on" for roaming.

I manage to get connected through GPRS with fully functional push service, but after an hour or less, Ill get these connection status.

- Connection failure
- Disconnected (roaming)
- Idle

When that happens, I have to edit my activesync settings to force a "reconnect" because just doing "sync now" will not do anything.
Often, I got to reboot my phone because it gets jammed on "saving settings"

This is really frustrating. Is it just me? Or is it Mail2Web? or is it Activesync client?

PS - I am not on WAP, I got all open ports over GPRS. I am behind NAT, but when on WiFi, I am behind NAT as well and that works fine.

I've used ActiveSync for about two and a half months with zero issues. In fact, I found it to be more reliable on my E61 than I did on my Sprint PPC6700.

I don't know what version of Mail2Exchange you're using, but it might be worth investigating. I think the latest version is 1.31.

I use 1.3, but the 1.3.1 only adds "features", but nothing about connection stability.

Plus, you had no issue with 1.3 (I assume thats what you got), so its probably something to do with my POS carrier.

What are the settings that you guys use in your Symbian phone to get it to connect with Mail2web? I was trying mobile.exchange.mail2web.com to no avail....

My E70-2 doesn't prompt for a 'domain' anywhere.

This is what I have:

MENU -> CONNECTIVITY -> SYNC

Mail2Web profile

Sync Profile Name: Mail2Web
Applications:contacts:include in sync: yesremote data base: mobile.exchange.mail2web.comsynchronization type: normal
Connection Settings:server version: 1.2serverID: mobile.exchange.mail2web.comdata bearer: internetaccess point: always askhost address: mobile.exchange.mail2web.comport: 80username: myusernamepassword: mypasswordallow sync requests: yesaccept all sync requests: nonetwork authentic: no
I get "INVALID HOST ADDRESS"

....what's invalid about the address I copied right off their webpage lol?

that... looks like you are really not using the right application there buddy.
