Activating this game from microsoft...**PLEASE HELP**?

I've owned Microsoft flight simulator X for about a year now and about 4 to 5 months ago I got a new cpu. I then bought an external hard drive with FSX still installed on the external hard drive. But now when i try to play it (from the external hard drive) i can only play for a maximum of about 30 minutes apparently because i have not activated the product or something of that sort. I have read many forums and FAQ's saying that when i run the game the activation wizard should pop up asking for my Product code (or key, whatever) but whenever i click fsx.exe it just goes straight to the game without prompting me for activation.

I've been slaving over this for 2 days now and any help would be appreciated.
