Activating Blackberry on a current sprint account.?

Hello, I have samsung a900 for sprint now...
and I wanted Verizon but I'll wait little bit more for iphone this summer...
but until then, I have got old blackberry curve for cheap from online and it asks me to
put identifier code (HEX, DEC, IMEI, etc) but will activating blackberry automatically change
plan such as, I have no web plan but will it change when i activate the blackberry???
