Activated a blackberry on old plan with No Internet .. costs?

I had a regular verizon phone which was crap and a friend of mine gave me an extra blackberry they had...

I got the blackberry activated but I'm still on the same old basic plan with NO INTERNET or anything..

Am I gonna get charged for anything If I Don't use the internet? What about BLACKBERRY MESSAGING ??
