Has anyone been to see this yet?
I was looking forward to it immensely, but now it seems my local Odeon will not be showing it

So... Is it as good as it looks? :D

Havent seen it....but going by trailers/clips I have seen, it looks awful.

And reviews so far have been panning it. Both the film and the (general) mess made of most of the Beatle cover versions. I am not a fan of Taymor, I thought her Titus was a mess and who cares about 60's hippies anymore frankly?...bit out of date, as we are reflecting more on the 70's and 80's now. Maybe a great idea in 1987,but in 2007, perhaps an ill-timed oddity.

Nah, Ill give it a cinema miss and bung on my original, wonderful, cant be bettered, Fab Four albums instead.

Ill wait for it to come on Sky, then if its rubbish, I havent paid....:D, at least not for the particular film.

Fair enough!

I too have heard many reviews focusing on the quality of the Beatles covers. ("It's sacrilege" etc...) Although that won't be a problem for me as I have no interest in the Beatles (no emotional attachments, only know the most famous songs)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this will be the best film ever. Or even of the year for that matter. But it just seems such a shame that the first film in ages that I would be willing to pay the extortionate prices to go and see, is not going to be shown at my local cinema.

Just realised that this is the film I saw trailed in the cinema and spotted that the screenplay was by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. Never mind whatever happened to the likely laRAB, however did they get involved in this?

I heard a clip on Five Live the other day and the music sounded grim. Curiously both imdb contributors and Guardian readers are giving it high scores - is this film going to turn out to be a sleeper hit?
