Acne, What Worked For Me

hey peeps, let me just first give you an update on my past.

I had acne from the time I as 15-19. At the end of age 18, which I just turned 19, I decided I'm fed up with all this and that I was going to try to get on accutane. However, my derm told me I had to try a couple things first.

The first thing he gave me was a topical solution, which worked a little bit, but not good enough.

The second thing was antibiotics. Amazingly, it works miracles, and it still works going on 2 months. I've barely had any acne, and my face is very very clear. I have not been this clear since it started.

I would also like to say that I didn't think it would work because of the testimonials I've read on here. I think we have to remeraber that most peopel that our on thsese baorRABd are the people that the things the derm gave them didn't work. Were all different, dont go by testimonials.

BTW, the antibiotic I'm using is doxycycline and it has had no side affects, I just have to eat somethign with it. I take one pill at night.
 
I've been on retin a-micro for about a 1 1/2 yrs.It pretty much did and ok job on my acne.I've seen better improvement with the doxy, been on it for about a month and now i have no pimples.So we'll see in a couple of months if its still working.The retin a-micro i only put on about twice a week because its sooooooo drying.I hope doxy continues to work for both you and i.Take care.
 
Hey Doer, keep postin messages like every month coz we wanna know how long you stay clear. Of course, I hope you are cured. I think NOBODY deserves acne coz it can damage you mentally and physically. I've never heard of that antibiotic.
 
I used to be on an antibiotic which I think is called tetrex, but I found that I was more succeptable to catching stuff. I know this doesn't mean you will be, but i just thought I'd add it in.
 
Sad to say but i was clear on doxy for 2 months up until yesterday when i brokeout with 3 cystic pimples.Boo hoo on meeee.Take care.:wave:
