ok i need suggestions on what product to buy for my skin.
here's a description of my skin:
i have corabination skin.
its very oily sometimes, yet also very sensitive and can get dry really easily.
on a scale from 1-10, my skin would be a 5 in acne.
i have mildish acne, i'll always have a few small small pimples that arent very noticable at all, but then i'll have about 2-3 big ones that i just can't seem to get rid of.
i also used to have horrible acne, and most of it went away when i used nuetrogena blackhead eliminating daily scrub. i still continued to use that, but my skin seemed as if it was as good it was gonna get with that product. my skin didn't get any better, but it didn't get any worse either. so then i put some of Neutrogena's Clear Pore treatment which doesnt seem to be on the market anymore, but that wasn't doing any good. then i tried Neutrogena On the Spot acne treatment, and that was when i discovered i was allergic to benzoil peroxide.
After that, i tried Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash, and that was way to harsh on my skin, my skin was over-dried and peeling.
So then i tried Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash daily scrub. i found it the same as the blackhead eliminating scrub so the product i am currently using is Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser with Neutrogena Oil-Free moisturizer. i can honestly say that Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser does prevent future breakouts but it doesnt really seem to do that much about the existing pimples or the redness for that matter. When i had bad acne i got a lottt of redness and scars, so i am also looking for something to get rid of that too.
i am looking for a product that can clear the existing pimples without over-drying the skin, something that can prevent future breakouts, even skin tone, and overall improve the appearance of the skin concerning acne and pimples that doesnt have benzoyl peroxide.
And for a second product that you put over clean skin i'm looking for an acne scar eliminator or something like that. thankyou so much for reading this!!! any suggestions???

It might help if you could state your age, when you first started getting acne, and whether it gets worse just before your period and/or right in the middle of your cycle (ie around ovulation). Are you on the contraceptive pill, if so which one? Acne can have many causes, but hormones and stress seem to be the main ones. I'm sure if you include a little more information people could make suggestions as to what might work for you. Remeraber though that everyone is different, and what works for one person might make someone else break out. Hence this board!

As for me, I have mild/moderate stubborn adult acne, started age 29, and have tried everything over the counter, plus a couple of creams from the dermatologist which were way too harsh. I'm now on Yasmin (contraceptive pill) and trying proactive.

But in general, a mild benzoyl peroxide (2.5%) applied to the acne prone area is a good start, after washing with a mild salicylic acid wash and gently patting dry. Use a good oil-free moisturiser after the BP has dried (with SPF for during the day). You could try the Neutrogena Advanced Solutions kit - contains all the above. It might well work for you if you only have mild acne, and its cheaper than proactive. Also of course a healthy diet, try and cut back on sugars, lots of water, sleep, exercise and a multivitamin with no more than the RDA of iodine. But be gentle with your skin to start with - over washing it and using too many products can make acne worse. Use the BP sparingly until your skin is used to it.

Good luck!
