I have had a small cyst(?) on the side of my cheek for about 20 years. It started as a large pimple.
It is basically now a very small icepick kind of hole, sort of like a large pore.
The problem is that it constantly fills with gunk and and becomes a small bump. Then I can't stand it and I squeeze the gunk out and then I have a scar from that for a while. I know I shouldn't touch it but I hate the bump.
I asked a Derm. about it once and she just said don't worry about it, it's not a big problem. This has gone on for too long and I would really like to know if there is something I can do to make it go away. Any advice?

talk to your doctor about using retin-A to unclog the oil gland...it might help you. I suffer from cystic acne myself and have had a nasty one for 6 months now , by my nose..its not an area which can safely be injected, however since rubbing small amounts of Retin-A on it nightly, Im starting to feel it go down slightly..I truly believe that the gland is completely clogged and until you break down what is inside, its going to keep showing up.
good luck. I feel for you!

Your dermo can inject it to make it go away if it hurts but if it doesn't and its just a large pore then it just fills up with whatever is on your skin. kind of a vicious cycle. toner like witch hazel or some sort of s.acid may help
