Acid reflux symptoms?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this board and am grateful for its existence.

For the past week or so, I have had a lump in my throat and (I guess?) related difficulty swallowing with excessive burping, some hoarseness, weird stomach sounRAB, and a sometimes burning feeling. Also, lots of mucus and a white coated tongue! Does this sound like acid reflux? The dr. seemed to think so. A few years ago, I had intense heartburn.

I was just prescribed Nexium and have bought Tums. Any dietary recommendations and when should the medication start working?

This sounRAB like the symptoms that most of us have. I know I have these symptoms with my acid reflux.
 
Is a lump in the throat feeling normal with acid reflux? I have eaten very little today and didn't think I would have acid reflux because I ate so little. Can symptoms arise even from not eating much?
