Is it possible that GERD can be strong enough to mimic gallbladder problems? I had the HIDA Scan w/ CCK in Feb 09, and supposedly my GB is great. Can Acid Reflux be that strong to attack me in the same exact spot where my gallbladder is located?

Anybody know? Because I've been holding off on the Nexium due to the fact that I don't know if I really need it.

Yes, thats exactly where I get pain or burning. Had my gallbladder removed, still get pain at the exact same spot. It's the reflux.

Hello,

Thanks for letting me know. May I ask how long your Gallbladder has been out and if you experience any of the post-GB surgery digestive problems?

Also, what do you curently do about your Acid Reflux?

Thanks.

Had Gallbladder removed three years ago, think it was unnecessary now. I had the same problems before gallbladder was taken out as after. Never had diarrehea, always constipated. I control my reflux now by taking prescription prilosec 30-45 minutes before dinner and Pepcid AC before sleeping, it controls my reflux really well, only times I have problems with reflux now is when I go off the deep end and eat a ton of food before sleeping or go out and really overdrink the booze.

I also think my gallbladder was removed unnecessarily 2 years ago. My symptoms were always nausea, upper stomach pains, chest pains. My HIDA scan showed only 16% so the dr's insisted my problems were from the gallbladder. My relief only lasted a few months and then they returned.

I've been battling the symptoms and tried all the different meRAB and a change in my diet but got no relief. I'm finally getting some relief with acupuncture.
