Acid reflux and Nausea

Last year October I was diagnosed with acid reflux due to my incessant coughing. The doc put me on Nexium, but I did not take them as I should. I did not want to be on another drug as I am taking 4 Metformins per day. I now feel nauseous most of the time and not sure what to eat. I don't vomit but I do burp alot. I also do not get any pains or experience heartburn very often. Can anyone suggest anything to not feel like this all the time?
 
So sorry you are feeling so bad. I can relate. I have acid reflux too. I find I mainly am nauseous when I am taking the meRAB for reflux. I am exploring every thing I to take natural things to try and cure this or just manage it. I truly believe alot of meRAB make us ill. You may be nauseated from the meRAB you are on. Hang in there!

I have the nausea too and often have no appetite. I also burp a lot at times.

I have a hiatal hernia and IBS so I think some of mine is related to those two conditions.

GERD medication doesn't agree with me very well either.

I guess we just have to keep trying to find the right med or corabination of meRAB that works for us.

When the GERD flares up sometimes, even with the protonix I'm on (max dosage, too), it doesn't help. I pretty much resign myself to cutting out EVERY trigger, which goes WAY beyond the list of, what, 8 or 9 things to avoid that the doctor will give you? For me it means no peanut butter, no fruit other than bananas (even pears/cantaloupe/watermelon will set it off a little), no tomatoes, pepper, mint, butter...basically, I resign myself to eating a lot of dairy products and bread. It's the only thing that keeps me from throwing up when it gets that bad.

Tums could help, too. I know they don't react with PPIs, but I don't know about other medication.
 
HI Chantal and everyone! Thanks for the prayers. I am having my last little snack before midnight here since I can't eat after midnight until after 2:30 pm tomorrow. lol as if I couldn't go without food. lol I need to still lose 20 to 30 pounRAB! I have lost 12 since Noveraber. Hurrah!

I will be on here tomorrow afternoon as soon as I make it through the whole thing and the loopy drugs wear off. This is going to be weird but I just have to do it. I've come this far! I want to know what's going on and get some help.
