Acer 4220 TravelMate Battery Weird Problem?

I have an Acer TravelMate 4220 laptop, my battery seems not to charge and it freezes my laptop and disables the keyboard and mouse so i only use the usb ones, but when i remove the battery and use the AC power, my laptop works perfectly fine of which i find very strange.

If you've came across with this problem or know how to solve it please reply as soon as possible.
