Accutane Question.

i am starting my seventh month of accutane and am terrified that it is going to come back after i am finished. Due to my insurance once i am finished i do't know if i will be able to get back on it. so as you can see i am really worried. can anyone tell me their experiences with finishing up accutane and if they had any problems with it coming back.
 
The most widely accepted statistic is that a single course of Accutane treatment takes away 80% of all your acne. They don't say 100% because it is not always 100% for some people. The 20% that might still remain might still be visible, or might appear and disappear periodically.

Personally, after I finished my first course of Accutane, I had 90% of all my acne gone, but a little bit still left. Nothing major though. It's been about 9 months since I last took Accutane and by this day I still have a pimple here, and maybe a pimple there, but nothing major. They aren't as big anymore though as they used to be before. And also, if I exclude any dietary choices that aggravate acne (dairy is a huge offender) - then my face will be almost 100% clean.

Sometimes, the first few weeks after stopping Accutane, the acne might come back... but it should disappear again and look just like it was while you were on the treatment.
 
I've been off Accutane for at least a year and all I get is the regular pimple once and a while. I wouldn't be too worried about it. Just watch your diet a bit and maybe try to eat on the healthier side. How's Accutane working otherwise for you now?
 
i've been taking accutane for 3 months now, and it's gotten rid of all the bumps, but my face is still full of red spots and it drives me crazy, i really want my self esteem back. i need to take the medicine for 2 more months, then wait 2 more months after that for all the redness to fade away....this is taking forever
 
it has worked great my face is pretty much smooth. but again like everyone is saying i still have a lot of redness.
 
My redness is still fading away... and I stopped taking Accutane in Septeraber of 2006.
 
I say just try to keep it simple post tane.

Wash with a gentle med free soap, and moisturize daily. Sometimes less is more. :)
