Accutane question

hello,
i just started accutane today and my derm prescribed me 40 mg twice a day. after looking at other posts, this dosage seems high to me. I have mild acne (break out at end of BC pack -- maybe 5 pimples a month -- and i do get some cysts underneath the skin). i thought that the dosage of accutane was supposed to be based on your weight or severity and I only weigh 100 pounRAB. do you think this dose is too high??? please respond....thanks
 
Well, I have moderate acne, but its persistant also, and am a male bty 130 pounRAB and i was given 60mg per day.
 
it does look like it's too high... i had moderate acne.i weight 120 lb and were on 40mg for 4 mnths and 20mg for 3 mnths...it all cleared up without any real sideeffects ......but mostly you should listen to your body...if you have serious side effects or you just don't feel right then tell your doc to decrease dosage...otherwise everyone is different..what worked for me might not work for you...and you always could try a different doctor and get a second opinion
