Accutane and depression

I was also on Accutane about 4 or 5 years ago, and have had depression for at least 4 years. I was also unaware that Accutane could cause depression even after being off of it for X amount of time. I only learned of this within this week. I am also curious of what your dermatologist had to say and your therapist, if you did see one. I've been seeing a therapist for the past 2 years, different ones, because I only recently found one that was of any great help. You would have thought that this subject would have come up, as I think I have disclosed that I was on Accutane in the past.

I took Accutane for severe acne about 4 years ago for I think 5 or 6 months and my acne did in fact virtually disappear. I have gotten a zit or two around the time of my period, but other than that not really any acne. I had also been on birth control, Yasmin, for the past four years; I only recently stopped taking birth control about four months ago. This month I have gotten more zits than I have had for the last 4 years so I definitely think that birth control helps with your complexion. I am very skeptical of both Accutane and Yasmin, so I wouldn't recommend them. I just felt I would share my experiences with these medications.
