Acculign rear set group buy...

That makes it worth it?

It's more looks for me than anything right now..

I guess I'll have to ride with them to understand how much better aftermarket rear sets are.

not sure of your riding history but, if you do some track days with tuition they teach you how to hang on with legs and feet to keep pressure of your hands and the bars. the rearsets for me are about being practical....helps that they look awesome aswell

For me rearsets are absolutely a necessity. I have a set on my ZX-10R from Attack. On the ZX-10, the levers are integrated into the rear set. With aftermarket rearsets like my Attack, the use of better bearings at the pivot point for the levers makes shifting much smoother with less slop. On the Ducs, this doesn't factor in, but I thought I would mention one of the benefits which applies to other bikes.

The main reason why I want aftermarket adjustable rearsets is proper leg positioning. With the stock rearsets on my 848, the stock rearsets places my knees at the wrong spot. I find myself pinching in at the point below the fuel tank where the black side panels meet the tank. This prevents me from getting a positive lock on the tank for both braking and cornering.

Oh and one more thing. Aftermarket rearsets typically have foot pegs which have surfaces which are cut pretty aggressively. This provides a better gripping surface for my boot so my foot isn't sliding around.

These rearsets are probably the best mod I've done so far. The grip/knurl are so much better than stock and the adjustability are the best in the market. Great rearsets for street and awesome on the track (excellent ground clearance vs. stock). I ordered mines here:
