So sorry to hear that fella but your wife has obviuos reasons for feeling as she does but it's a damn shame as being on or with your loved ones on a bike is a terrific feeling

when i dated a jo in the coast guard a few years ago, i used to pack him on my gsxr. he hadn't ridden in years, but loved it. ppl used to take pics of us. a girl packin a guy is a lil unusual... he didn't mind n got his kicks out of it. but it was always funny when he fell asleep on long rides. of course i would go slower than normal.

on the other hand i dated a guy that rode pretty hard, i ran w/ that group for a while and both my crashes were w/ them. he actually videoed my 2nd crash. (pretty cool footage). of course he was devastated n took care of me for a couple months. didn't last cuz he had cheated on me before n there was no trust.

but even when i was dating other ppl n we were riding w/ the group he still kept an eye on me from the front of the pack. so yeah, either way packing or riding their own bike... it stinks to care about someone.

Got to disagree with you there i love riding with Legs as i am much more considered in my riding with her than without and it is so much better riding with a woman rather than guys who just try to keep up at any cost

in my laster sentence i was being sarcastic. i think it depends on the other half. the group i rode w/ was pretty competitive and very fast. and a lot of the times the group was very large. as one of the long time members, i became sweeper. partly cuz i knew d routes and coule keep pace for noobs, but mostly cuz d xbf would always look for me. if i wasn't there, he'd come looking. after the crashes he always had a fear, which he cleary expressed to me.

on small or one on one rides, it's cool. but its a totally different atmosphere. a lot slower and relaxed.

Yeah, I don't fault her for feeling the way she does. One of my older friends has been riding for about 50 years and has never been down. He's going to try and talk her into riding on the back of his Goldwing (he's an Iron Butt guy) and seeing if she could get used to it. If so, I have no problems with buying a cruiser to go along with my 996!

Never crashed with her on the bike w/ me, but she crashed the zx-7 herself while learning to ride it. She got a little overzealous and went into the dirt/grass on a turn and gave it a little too much throttle, the bike spun around under her, and she tried to catch it.(BAD idea- she's only 5'3") She ended up underneath it, bike on op of her and she couldn't get it off and the exhaust burned her through her pants before I could get to her. The wound healed, but she still is timid on bikes. I have gotten her to ride the 848, but only in the yard, and not for very long. I am glad she gets that far though. there is still a possibility of her doing more I think....
