Accident - Need a little advice

With all due respect, you're way off. I'm too scared to try high speed wheelies - I'm barely getting the wheel off the ground at 35mph.

I was also riding with a guy only two months in, so keeping the pace slow.

When I hit the curb, the bike jumped the curb and slid on grass for a little ways. I think the damage came from it hopping the curb then slamming down.

And FYI - the shift lever is broke, which is why I posted the picture.

Thanks to those who are actually trying to help.

Guess I'm not sure what frame tabs are. If you describe them, I can check.

I didn't ride it home. The shift lever was broke, and I wanted to get to the ER to patch up the hole, so my buddy got the bike home in a truck.

Family and friends were a little spooked, but glad to hear I haven't been lying to them this whole time when I say I always wear gear .

If you are driving up to the cities my advice would be to drive past Motoprimo and go straight to Delano Sports Center.

Sorry to hear and see about your accident, I hope you recover quickly and get the Duc fixed or replaced.

I would truck it to the Ducati dealership, if it is fixable, then at least it is already they for the "fixen." Plus they are gonna to know exactly what to look for to see if it is totaled. The frame tabs are where the rearsets bolt on to the frame, there are two little tabs that can get bent, usualy with aftermarket rearsets (they do not bend up like stock), if those tabs get bent, call it a night.........

I bought my bike from Delano, so I guess I'll go there. Was sorta hoping I didn't have to drive all the way up there :P. Thanks for the advice, I guess I Know my next steps!

Haha! I've been thinking about the 1198 in white . Might not be the best idea coming off a wreck, but who knows.

I ordered a new helmet a few days ago, so that turned about to be good timing. And I agree completely on the new jacket. The freebie did it's job - time to move on.

Sweet! or at least Sweet if you wanted to fix and not be totaled and trade in for a 1198. As an 848 guy I say stay with your Baby. In the world of motorcycle crashes the damage does not look too bad, I assume that you have a bent rim from the curb though, and fork seals are probably done too.
