...good thing? It is comprehensive? Why would people not be for it? Why not say this program should be the core for our kids and not just as an assembly once a year but as the sex ed classes and the use of contraceptives done as assemblies once or twice a year? Shouldn’t it be reversed
The program knows that values start at home and without the help of the home then the program can only have limited results but the program is sound and robust it is extensive and so I wonder
THE OTHER QUESTION(S)
•Why do people just shoot it down and say kids will have sex anyway? Why not give them all the tools they need to say no, to have self esteem and self worth, why not give them every chance to have a successful path way and if they choose to go a different route and have sex anyway then so be it but shouldn’t we do our best as individuals, friends, parents and mentors to teach them what it means to have character and self control? Instead of just say hey your going to do it anyway so just be protected while you do it? Don’t we want them to know they can overcome and succeed? Isn’t it more healthy to have limited or even only one partner and to be a loving monogamous relationship, isn’t that the type of society that is healthy and rich and compassionate?
•why would we not strive as a nation to properly equip our youth in this area, telling them they are better than giving themselves away for free and a cheap thrill, especially our girls, who are hard wired much differently than men.
The Program does this not just by talking about and lecturing kids about and telling them DO NOT HAVE sex because God says so, it talks to kids openly and honestly and in real terms, giving them the facts behind the whys.
The abstinence programs goal is to try and get teens to wait as long as possible to engage in sexual activities (including oral sex, the program discusses how oral and anal sex is still sex and the risk of STD’s involved in this type of sex).
The Abstinence programs goes over abortion and the statistics surrounding abortion and the abortion rate amongst sexual active teens/young adults.
it views the consequences holistically as to how teens could be affected emotionally, physically, socially, and financially. Teaching about what is happening to your body hormonally.
Teaching abstinence also teaches good character traits, such as self-control and discipline, and positively affects teens’ academic achievement. The Abstinence program Teaches all about STD’s from the clap to Aids, It teaches kids about birth control and the ineffectiveness of birth control to control STD’s and even pregnancy.
The Teaching touches on birth control but does not offer it as the main objective, the focus is not about teaching them how to use contraceptives but it does teach them about the various options they have and the hows and why’s of why people choose the different types.
The Abstinence program talks in-depthly about pregnancy and teen pregnancy and the benefits of waiting to have children after being established emotionally and financially it also expresses to children the benefit of a two parent home over a single parent home.
