ABS light on in 1997 Ford Ranger?

The brake light is also lit on the dash. There is also a rubber hose hanging off of the rear axle, on the driver's side, that I don't know where it goes. The same hose isn't on the opposite side of the axle. Brakes still work fine. Truck is 4-wheel drive. Any help will be much appreciated.
 
The hose should be a breather hose for the rear axel. Should go up to the frame or crossover under the bed of the truck. Check/clean/test your speed sensors, then go from there.
