ABS Light came on in my wife's 2009 Ford Expedition?

My wife and i left our twins with her mom's for the night so we could get out. And it had been raining all day nonstop and we were pulling out onto a main road. My wife has a bit of a lead foot LOL. Well anyways the expedition started to skid i guess you could say the RPM's were around 7k and we were not going anywhere and then finally we got traction and started going and the ABS Light came on. Well we drove somewhat slow all the way to her parents house to pick up our twins. And we were there for about two hours and then when we got back in and started the light did not come on. Anyone have any idea why the light came on in the first place?
 
it came on because ABS is used in "traction control" also.

The spinning wheels activated the traction control computer and applied the brakes to the spinning wheels, illuminating the light to "let you know" that it was doing that.
