I want to do write about Abraham Lincoln and how he freed the slaves but I don't quite get how and WHY he freed the slaves.I looked at some website but none of them so far tell me WHY Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves. Can anyone tell me what is his purpose in freeing the slaves and HOW he did it? THANKS
