About the e22 recall for Jeeps..?

I had taken it to a Jeep dealership to have the recall performed and was told beforehand my catalytic converter would be tested, and replaced if it had a rattle. The recall was performed, and we were told my catalytic converter was perfectly fine, which we didn't believe since it was told it was likely the cause of my rough idling, stalling, and rotten egg smell and we knew for a fact it had a rattle. The rotten egg smell is absolutely back. Isn't there a grace period of time between the time the recall was performed and when the catalytic converter is replaced that Jeep would still cover it? Since it was bad then, and now just made worse. The dealership just didn't want to have to replace it.
