If I legally purchase a song, say off of iTunes, can I upload that to a site so that others can listen to the song for free, I'd be making no profit nor claiming the songs to be my own.
You can, but you risk the record company getting your site shut down or pursuing legal action against you. In other words, you assume a certain amount of risk.
I guess you can, as long as you give the credit to the people. For example:
(song name) copyrights go to (creators of the song/music company)
Then list something like " I don't own anything the rights go to blah blah blah..etc... I'm just sharing the music with the world"
