About 23 weeks pregnant and feeling a weird pressure in pelvis / hips / lower tummy?

I am about 23 weeks along, and in the last few days I have started to experience some pressure and discomfort in my lower abdomen, hips, and pelvic area, down low - if that makes any sense. It's a really sort of uncomfortably full sensation, not quite painful, but very uncomfortable. And it's intermittent. Truly, I feel it most in the middle of the night when I get up to pee, and then throughout the morning. Every once in awhile I get the feeling for awhile in the afternoon, too, but it isn't an all-day thing.

My baby only weighs about a pound at this point, so I am confused: could this be the baby, or is because my amazing stretching uterus just continues to get bigger, or is this even normal? Has anyone else experience this? Some insight from you more experienced mamas and mamas-to-be would be welcome. I have an appointment this afternoon, but would just like to hear it from the source, if I could. =) You've not steered me wrong so far, lol!

Thanks in advance, ladies!

i'm 27 weeks pregnant and i've had this exact occasional feeling since about 22 weeks. i'm a first time mom to be so i'm not positive on whether or not it's a "bad thing" but i do know what you mean. i always assumed it was just the baby and the placenta and the uterus and the amniotic fluid etc all making extra weight. it may not BE that heavy, but in comparison to what we're used to which is barely anything in there, it makes a difference, you know? hope this helps?

Sounds like the baby is on a nerve. If you are really worried ask your doctor or midwife, but it sounds normal to me, I remember getting that!

good luck, take carex
