I have a top loader Maytag washing machine that is approximately 6 years old. In the past week, it has been making an extremely loud noise while agitating, it almost sounds like something or someone is inside the machine banging on a drum. Could a coin have gotten in the agitator? It does appear to drain fine, however, I have had a couple of loads still be wet once the cycle was complete, I suspect this is due the fact that the agitation process is not completing correctly. Any thoughts are appreciated.
I have tried re-adjusting the loads, but it is still making the noise. However, the last load I did, a load of towels, the noise lasted only briefly and the spin cycle completed properly with the load not being wet. I have also done what you mentioned, an additional spin to get the remaining water out, of course that works, but this noise is still concerning to me.
