Abnormal Body Temperature

I never run fevers and if I do it is only around the 99 range. It never goes above 99.9 it seems. My normal body temperature is around 97.3 and even when I feel at my worst I still don't run fevers. I am actually getting over bronchitis right now and instead of running a fever my body temperature is at 95.9 and I am freezing because of it and in just a little while it is going to shoot up to somewhere around 98. something. And this is not the first time that this has happened. I am more apt to having my body temperature shoot down than I am to it shooting up. Is this common? Anybody else experience something similar?

It is normal for body temperatures to fluctuate during sickness, or cold. Just go with the flow. Put a jacket on when you feel cold, and take it out when you start to feel
toasty. Other factors, such as blood pressure, dryness and humidity, etc., also determines how we feel.

Your body will do weird things when you're sick...I also tend to have a slightly lower than normal average body temperature (around 96-97 degrees). I had some kind of godawful cough a few weeks back that began with awful chills and a low fever...I don't know if my temperature went up or down, but all I know is I was pretty much incapacitated by the coldness. I didn't want to even get out from under my blankets (which was impossible since I was visiting a friend for his graduation). Of course, I have a horribly low tolerance for cold to begin with, so that didn't help me at all.

I'd say it's pretty normal. Try not to worry too much about it...stay warm when you get cold, and take hot baths as warm as you can handle them. Not only will it feel great to warm up, but the steam will help loosen up any congestion you have.

My body temp average is also around 76.5 or so. Even when I feel at my worst my fevers never run very high. I've also been sick for the past week with bronchitis or something. I dont' know what is wrong. I've had horrible sinus and chest congestion and am coughing up greenish phlegm for the past two days. What are your symptoms?
