A950 or E815? new guy needs help

Hi-

I am currently debating getting the Samsung A950 or the Moto E815. Anyone have any advice on the better phone? Also I have been reading that the E815 can play .3gp files but I haven?t heard anything about the A950. Any help would be great.

I've owned them both. Your best off finding info on them in the verizon phone sub forums. Here's a few of my observations.
Camera - E815 (a950 is very pixelated for a samsung and has a long shutter delay)
Reception - E815, there's really no comparison
Battery Life - E815 by about a full day
Mp3 - A950 is nicer with the external controls and external speakers sound better.
Video - Tie, they both can play .3gp and .mp4 with high quality audio encoded and a fast frame rate. I use mpegable to convert my videos and am quite amazed at the quality.
UI/File system - E815 as you cannot organize your pictures and videos into sub categories on the micro sd card with the A950. I also hate the new Verizon UI on all the new phones as it was designed for the dumbed down user and it's ugly and out of date looking. Samsung and Moto both make cool looking UI's they will be missed on verizon.

i had the e815 but i lost it =[ and just bought the a950 and waiting for that to come in

now the camera on the e815 was bad it was blurry and grainy looking which bothered me
and the shutter delay on the samsung i heard can be fixed with an upgrade of the software

the UI i actually like i think it looks cool

and i organized my files into sub categories on my e815 but i always forgot about them so i guess thats not much of a big deal

and on both phones you can talk with flip closed using speakerphone i had no probs with my e815 but before i lost it, it started going bad on me moto phones aren't that great after a while they go bad it froze A LOT on me and was getting echo probs don't get me wrong i loooved my e815 and miss it so much and never used the samsung yet

yeah im late in reply what did you end up getting if you bought one??
 
I actually found the quality of the e815's camera to be horrible compared to the v8100 and a950, both on the phone and on a computer screen.

Battery life is horrible, too. My bro and his roommate's e815s often last only 2-3 days on standby. Probably cause the charger is so horrible...though when the charger connects properly, sometimes their phones last up to 4 days.

reception is about the same, though if you cover up the antenna on the samsung it drops to 1 or 2 bars (really hard to do unless you have huge hands or like cupping your phone)
 
My wife was ready for an upgrade and we were debating over the same two phones. We finally decided on the A950 because of the external mp3 player controls. Verizon also dropped the price this week and are also offering a $50.00 discount for online purchase. Together with our two year upgrade discount of $100.00, the phone was free.
