a707 or Apple phone if its real

Alright, I'm at the point in my plan at which I can upgrade my phone. I was about to get the Samsung Sync a707 because of its great features and price, but then I heard that the Apple Phone is going to come out in January. If the Apple phone really does come out in January I would get it as long as it is in my budget (no more than $100 after rebates), but if it doesn't come out or it is too much money, then I would have wasted my time when I could have had a new phone. To wait or not to wait, that is the question.
 
The iphone has been confirmed by a few sources. Some say with no carrier, just unlocked from Apple, some say it will be released on ALL the carriers. It will be something like 449.99 for the 8gb and 349.99 for the 4gb version.

If you get it on a contract dont expect it to be under 100 at first.

I would say for your criteria just get the a707.
