He has died at the age of 69 from Melanoma

He made some great shows and will be sadly missed

My goodness!

I was only watching him last week. He turns up in Castle, on Alibi, now and again as himself. Was in the first episode of Season 2 last week.

The A Team, Hardcastle & McCormick, Riptide, Hunter, you pretty much shaped the 80's trashy TV.

You'll be missed!

i loved watching the end credits for the A-Team when it showed Cannell typing then throwing the paper up in the air.
One of the greatest tv people ever !!!

He was also a great actor. He played the regular bad guy Donald Dutch Dixon on Renegade and appeared in several films and the soap Santa Barbara.
