Hey y'all a friend of mine left me a 2001 suzuki SV 650s motorcycle, the problem is i never own a motorcycle before,am not sure as yet if i want to sell or keep it.However i would like to know everything on it means such as the numbers, symbols, engine size,PS,KW,etc

Hi I've never owned a SV 650 but have read a few reviews on them and its rivals.
The Sv is a good starter bike that has reasonable torque that can carry a larger rider with no problems.
Its power output is around 60 to 70 odd HP.
The bike itself is quite light which is a good trait to have especially if you have never ridden one before.

The main concern with these entry level bikes is the suspension!
If you do decide to keep it, go to a suspension specialist and have them sort it for you as the stock stuff in these types of machines are terrible.
It can be fixed and you wont know yourself as the feedback from proper sorted suspension is confidence inspiring to say the least!

You should find out how long it hasn't been ridden and get it serviced if it has been left for a long period of time.
Have all of the fluids changed, change out the old fuel. get rid of the old rubber and buy some new sports tyres!

This all makes a big difference.

Then, if I were you and you have never ridden before, I would get my liscence purchase some good riding apparel and then proceed to do some rider training.

If you dont know the danger then you will surely put yourself at risk sooner than later.

Hope this helps,

Good luck.
