I have never cooked before. The only 2 things I know how to do are toasting bread (not really cooking), and making Ramen using the stove.

I know there are a LOT of books for my kinda people, but what's the best to get me started? It should have all the basic steps and processes.

Ex - How to boil an egg. I don't know how to do that.
How to peel a boiled egg. I screw up every time I try.
Etc.

I'll be driving by Borders tomorrow, so if it's a book, please let me know if it's available in Borders.
Pat: I'm looking around at the moment. Just wanna get some feedback.

Hambone: Can you post the link?

I love Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook. It's a basic, good reference cookbook. Plus it has pictures

Good luck
