A sports event lasts for 4 hours and is watched on a 300 Watt color TV set. If electricity costs $0.05 per kilowatthour,
then the cost of the electricity to run the TV set during the event is, in dollars
 
300 Watts is equal to .3 kilowatt hours so...

take the .3 kilowatt hours x the duration (4 hours)= 1.2kilowatts
then take the total number of kilowatts that will be used (1.2) x the cost per kilowatt ($.05)= which gives you your answer of $0.06
