celestial nebulae? this guy is a scientist who was born in missouri and he studied maths and astronomy at the university of Chicago, he studied a bit of law at Oxford, have a PhD on celestial nebulae. and I think he was the first guy to discover that our universe and our gallaxy (the Milky way) is one of billions.

PS: he's got a space telescope named after him.
