A ringtone issue with Nokia E71x did you experience this before?

I had transfered some ringtones to my phone's memory card and cannot set a ringtone... it says cannot set as a ringtone, it exceeds 300 kb... this is for nokia e71x... what does that mean? cannot assign ringtones?
