Our venue wants us to stop taking pictures during cocktails, come in and cut the cake...and then return to taking pictures. This way they can serve the cake for dessert immediately after dinner.

I had suggested to cut the cake after we are introduced into the reception hall, still having it be before dinner so they could cut the cake and serve it....BUT...

Our venue is flipping out because they have their "set" table and "set" schedule and if everything isn't done according to plan, there is a "delay".

I'm finding it a little uncomfortable with little flexibility. Should I just go with it, or change it to suit what we'd like?

My fiance and I would like it so that we are introduced FIRST and then cut the cake prior to being seated to eat.

stop taking pictures during cocktails? no pictures of the cake cutting? cut the cake after dinner, people don't sit and eat dinner than wait for wedding cake to be served; sounds like to me they have another reception to set up for and are wanting you guys in and out on THEIR schedule......

If you have enough time left to do it, look around for another venue. You should be able to find someone to give you what YOU want, not do it their way.

I think the venue should be more susceptible to your plans than to their set schedule. I agree that it's ridiculous. I would tell them that they do it your way or no way and find another venue. Good luck!
