There is a part in it where the bad guys tell the husband he must either shoot his wife in the face or they will break his 6 y/o sons neck. It's a nasty movie and because my other half hadn't seen it, I was giving him the general idea of it. However, I posed the question to him "what would you do in that situation?". He said "I'd shoot you". I was shocked by this, not only for the fact that we are married less than a week but, I kinda hoped he felt he couldn't imagine loving anybody or anything as much as he loves me, particularly now. I mean, neither of us has any kids so we have never experienced what it is to love, or be willing to die for, a child. I thought he would say he didn't know so I was a bit gob smacked.
I'm not looking for people to tell me that God is there or any of that, just opinions. Am I wrong to feel a bit confused by my husbands answer?
Great help *Just Wondering*...great. Like I said, I am not a parent so have never experienced the love one may have for a child and indeed be strong enough to sustain above all else. He is not a parent either, I think you missed the point here. Thanks everybody else for your thoughtful answers, they've provided some fruit for thought.
