Lets say(hypothetically of course) that a home invader breaks into my house. He clearly has a knife or a firearm of some kind in his hand. Im in fear for my life and even more my families' lives and there is nothing I can do but take him by surprise with a shotgun(that I have a license for). I shoot him just once in the chest, he's dead. Now, I instantly call 911 and tell them everything that happened. Where he was headed in my house, what he had, why I felt I had to defend my self, what i used, etc.
Now the question is could I get in trouble and be tried for murder? Even though I clearly had no choice but to defend my family with deadly force.
